Toll: No – well, maybe

Except on parts of the A1 around Sarajevo (and that applies to motorcycles too), there are no toll roads. So if you stick to backroads, you won’t get to any toll roads. And if you do go on the A1, it is toll gates where you pay at those (source: www.tolls.eu/bosnia)

Good roads. No problems. 

Road Safety: Medium

Don’t remember anything out of the ordinary. I was stopped for speeding once, but I was speeding, so I can’t really complain.

Nobody will attempt to kill you. Unless you’re being an ass.

Bike: Average

I would find secure parking. Either garage, backyard, or similar. I have never had issues finding safe parking. Just because that makes me sleep much better. 

Cell

Cell phone coverage is generally good, except in the mountains. Do not expect to have coverage unless you’re in a town. If you’re with an European operation, the free roaming role does not apply to Bosnia, so unless you have a deal with your operator, you would want to turn off data roaming on your phone.

Wifi

All hotels have wifi, but some aren’t too fast, and they don’t have many access points, so though there is wifi, the signal may not reach all the way to your room.

Language: Serbo-Croatian

Most younger people speak English.

Alphabet: Latin-ish

No need to learn Cyrillic.

Currency: Bosnia & Herzegovina Convertible Mark (BAM)
